Hello thank you for visiting my blog.
I am going to tell you about a textile exhibition I visited yesterday but first of all I want to share something that came into my messages last night.

A lady sent me this photo of a blanket she has made based on my Christmas Eve Blanket knitting pattern with the following message:
I have finally finished my 2020 Christmas blanket, albeit with a lot of changes when I discovered that I love crochet more than knitting, unless cabling is involved!
I am thrilled to see this creation which uses some of the patterns from my blanket combined with others that are crocheted. What a privilege it is to be able to put a design out into the world and for a person to take it and put together something totally unique to them with it. I always love seeing what people make, wether they stick to the pattern or not, but as a very basic crocheter myself I would never ever have imagined doing something like this.
When we began Needlecase in 2010 we wanted to encourage others to express their creativity and this lady was one of our customers so seeing this also makes me feel proud that we have in some way had an impact. It’s why I’m still here doing what I do.
Any way back to the textile exhibition. I just thought I would share some pictures that I took at this exhibition that I visited as this is the kind of blog I like to read myself so hopefully I can pass on the joy to you!
I visited the Bailiffgate Museum and Gallery in Alnwick which is a small museum near where I live that shows some interesting exhibitions.

This is the introduction to the current one which I believe is ending this weekend.
Anything connected to textiles always catches my eye and it’s interesting to note what personally attracts me and also what I find less interesting, so I am going to share the pictures without too much commentary as I know that others will take something different from each item.
I did, however, come home feeling moved to emulate some of the techniques I have seen and with a deeper understanding of the kind of hand sewing I will be looking to try in the near future.
I hope you enjoy these images.
