Sewing Felt Flowers and Strawberry Tea Cup Pin Cushions

On Friday the 21st of June we kicked off our weekend of celebrations to officially introduce our newly refurbished store to the people of Tadcaster and sewing, knitting and crocheting enthusiasts from the local town and even further a field.

We started with a simple felt flower making workshop hosted by our very own Judith Schur.

Then, Saturday the 22nd of June was our Strawberry Tea party in honour of  Breast Cancer Care, and we indulged in children’s crafts,  a pincushion in a teacup workshop and a little or should we say a lot, of tea and cake and light refreshments!

We headed down to our local charity shops a few days before the event and were lucky enough to pick up lots of pretty tea cups for making our pincushions in – and they definitely made some lovely ones – here are a few of our favourites…

We are pleased to say we had a great turn out so we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported us on the day. It was the second event after our beginners crochet class with Helen Jordan, to be held in our newly refurbished sewing and knitting work room, and thankfully, everyone fitted in and we had a really great day. We have more knitting, sewing and crocheting classes on the way so please do visit the website to sign up and pay for any you’re interested in! The more the merrier.
