Hello I’m Judith.

I am passionate about learning & helping others to learn a range of knitting techniques.
My website has been pretty much muted for the past 18 months to 2 years whilst we have been undergoing a relocation which did not quite go to plan. As things are now moving towards my being able to get back to a more creative way of working I thought I would do a little introduction and chat about how I got here and where I hope to be going as I move forward.
I have been loving knitting since I was a child. Previously a yarn shop owner, I am passionate about sharing the knowledge and skills needed to get everyone doing more knitting and have completed a City and Guilds qualification in Hand Knitting and Design. I now share my love of, and joy in, knitting at various workshops in a range of locations and using video tutorials online.
I see my role as one of inspiring and encouraging others to learn new techniques which they can then explore and build upon, very much enjoying the excitement that this can deliver, enabling people to use their own creativity and develop their personal ideas and stitching aspirations.

In January 2023, I was very proud to publish my book ‘Briooche’ and was looking forward to relocating with my husband from Yorkshire to Northumberland.
It is a very boring story but we ended up temporarily living in a static caravan with most of our belongings, including many of the things I needed to run this little business, stacked away in a storage unit.
Happily, in a few months time we will have finished renovating the house that we have bought, I will have a studio to work in and I can move on with some new projects.
Hurray!
During this time I have been extremely thankful to have been able to continue running my knitting workshops as well as still selling my patterns and online tutorials.
I was uncertain what direction I would take with aspects of how I work when we moved. Would I still be able to travel to Yorkshire for workshops, would I expand the online shop side of the business, would I write more patterns and make more online tutorials? I have been forced to concentrate on workshops and leave everything else to one side for quite a long period of time and this has actually had some advantages. What I am now very clear about is:
- I have loved running my workshops and am most definitely going to be carrying on with that.
- I am excited to be in the process of writing new workshops and intend to make new video tutorials to support them.
As well as all of that I can see lots of exciting things in my immediate future. Can’t wait to get on with making my new garden, spending lots more time exploring our new surroundings, getting all my art materials out for experimenting and doing plenty of sewing.
When I’m not doing all of that, I will be with my supermodels!
These are my sons and their partners who helped me out on a photoshoot for my book.

Thanks for reading, as you might have gathered I am quite excited to see what I get up to this year, hopefully you will be inspired to join me.
