6th & 7th September 2014
Once again last weekend Needlecase attended the British Wool Weekend event in Harrogate.
The aim of the event is to raise the profile of British wool and the many related products produced from British wool. It is an opportunity for you to explore the stands full of treasures or treat yourself to a hand crafted pure wool item. You can also enjoy watching the entertaining Sheep Show Man shearing a sheep.
This is our little stand. We took along lots of lovely wooly goodies.
Sublime and Debbie Bliss aran yarns in beautiful colours. Both have books containing some fabulous designs.
West Yorkshire Spinners products from Keighley. Pretty patterned yarns and zingy plains all in Double Knitting.
The Sheep Show Man appeared regularly talking about the different breeds of sheep he had with him and the properties of their fleeces, also demonstrating how sheep are sheared.
There was a knitted farmyard on display. The items had been donated and were being sold to raise money for Help for Heroes.
There were lots of opportunities to look at where our yarns and fibres come from!!
It was great to see other stall holders and we all had a fun weekend!!! This is Lynda Kinnard from Rebellious Rags www.lyndakinnard.co.uk and fellow local Yarn Shop owner Diane from Knitting Pretty in Knaresborough. Here are some of Lyndas fabulous woven landscapes as well…
and last but very much not least our friend Helen Jordan was there with her crochet expertise. Helen will be with us again in November to teach more people to crochet and we are planning dates for 2015. If you would like to come to one of our Beginners Crochet classes please get in touch and ask to join the waiting list.
