British Wool Weekend 2014

6th & 7th September 2014

Once again last weekend Needlecase attended the British Wool Weekend event in Harrogate.

The aim of the event is to raise the profile of British wool and the many related products produced from British wool. It is an opportunity for you to explore the stands full of treasures or treat yourself to a hand crafted pure wool item. You can also enjoy watching the entertaining Sheep Show Man shearing a sheep.

This is our little stand. We took along lots of lovely wooly goodies.

The Sheep Show Man appeared regularly talking about the different breeds of sheep he had with him and the properties of their fleeces, also demonstrating how sheep are sheared.

There was a knitted farmyard on display. The items had been donated and were being sold to raise money for Help for Heroes.

There were lots of opportunities to look at where our yarns and fibres come from!!
